Larry has over 20 years...
... in the field of higher education, beginning this facet of his career in 1989 as an adjunct instructor of communication courses at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. Moving over to Montclair State University (also in Jersey), Larry began also as an adjunct, but in 2005, he joined the full time staff.
He has helped write the curriculum for the Public Relations concentration (soon to be a BA in Public Relations), founded the Public Relations Student Society of America on the MSU campus, taught every course in the PR concentration, and introduced such courses as Integrated Marketing Communication and Creative Advertising. He was also the first of three professors to teach the MSU School of Communication's inaugural Transmedia Projects course.

Legendary Olympic gymnast Shannon Miller (second from left) with Larry's students. Shannon was the featured guest at the 2012 Ovarian Cancer Center fundraiser at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Mexico's greatest golfer, Lorena Ochoa, allowed Larry's PR students to do public relations for her from 2007-2008. The work, plus her visit to the campus in May of 2008, was reported about in the New York Times, The Record, PR Week, and the LPGA
Film star Moira Kelly ("The Lion King," "Cutting Edge"), on the right, with comedian Sunda Croonquist, were the featured artists at the 2013 benefit for Autism New Jersey.
TV star Ellen Muth ("Dead LIke Me") had the world public premier of her movie, "Dead Like Me:Life After Death" at Montclair State in 2009.
The Curtain Call Award
Larry's students created a unique partnership with the John J. Cali School of Music by originating a classical singing competition for high school students called The Curtain Call Awards, The event debuted in 2010 and continues to provide wonderful opportunities, not just for talented high school vocalists, but for Weiner's PR students, who organize, promote and host the event.
